BOTOX

What is Botox?

Put simply, Botox is a medication injected into muscles in order to temporarily smooth crow’s-feet around the eyes and frown lines and other lines on the forehead. It contains a highly purified botulinum-toxin protein.

Whenever you frown, laugh, or squint, certain facial muscles contract, creating lines on the face. Botox temporarily reduces this muscle activity by paralyzing these facial muscles, which helps to visibly smooth crow’s feet lines and frown lines.

How long does it take for Botox to work and how long does it last?

Botox is known as a lunchtime procedure—the actual injections take only 10 minutes. That said, results generally don’t show up for 24–48 hours. Faces look noticeably smoother within a week, with optimal results showing up after a month. In the manufacturer’s clinical studies:

  • 9% of people had mild or no crow’s-feet on the 30th day after treatment
  • 80% of people had significantly softened frown lines. The effects typically wear off in three to four months.

Where can Botox be used?

BOTOX can be used on the forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines (lines in the nose), chin (for dimpling), skin bands on the neck, and around the mouth (for smoker’s lines and down-turned corners of the mouth).

Fillers

Types of fillers

Early permanent fillers include silicone and Articol. They aren’t used that often anymore.

The new-generation biodegradable fillers last reasonably long and there’s negligible trauma involved.

The current gold standard are fillers produced from a crystal-clear gel form of hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar that occurs naturally in the body.

What are these new-generation fillers?

Cosmetic surgeons in South Africa inject hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers to reduce facial lines and to make lips fuller.

Some HA products are more effective than others. Products which have undergone a patented stabilisation process, have a longer-lasting effect. One should opt for the reputable brands that meet certain criteria and safety standards.

HA fillers are not treatments for skin damage – they are strictly tissue fillers which have a lifting effect. They can also be used to add volume to the tissue in the cheeks, chin and lips.

HA is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It holds water, thereby hydrating and giving volume to the skin. Because the effect is non-permanent, it is absorbed naturally over time.

What can fillers be used for?

  • Fine superficial lines;
  • Wrinkles;
  • Deep wrinkles or folds;
  • Chin and cheek augmentation;
  • Augmenting lips and defining the lip border
  • Hand rejuvenation

Is there any down time?

Injecting fillers into the grooves of wrinkles on the face at a superficial level can do much to decrease the signs of facial ageing.

The procedure takes a few minutes and the patient can return to work – even though the injected site might be a little red and puffy for a few hours. The mild swelling is usually gone within a day or two.

Liposuction

What is liposuction?

Liposuction surgery removes areas of unwanted fat with a tube and a vacuum device. Liposuction can remove fat from nearly all body areas and treat many non-cosmetic fat accumulations, including lipomas (benign fatty tumours) and gynaecomastia (fatty male breasts).

What areas can liposuction be done on?

The most common locations for liposuction are the chin, cheeks, neck, and upper arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and ankles.

What is the downtime for liposuction?

This varies from patient to patient but you should be back at work within 5 days.

Breast Augmentation and Lift

What is Breast Augmentation/Lift?

A breast lift with augmentation, also known as augmentation mastopexy, is a procedure that combines two of the most popular breast enhancement surgeries to add volume, reshape, and lift the breasts. Ageing, pregnancy, genetics, and weight fluctuation can all contribute to sagging breast tissue and loss of fullness in the upper breast, leading to a “deflated” appearance. Many women who seek either a breast lift or breast augmentation in Fort Worth find that combining the procedures provides them with the best results.

By removing excess skin, lifting the breast tissue, and increasing breast fullness with the placement of an implant, Fort Worth breast lift with augmentation surgery can create a youthful, shapely breast contour.

What is the benefits of combining augmentation and lift?

A breast augmentation combined with breast lift (mastopexy) can help women achieve breasts that appear fuller, rounder, perkier, and more youthful. We often advise women who want breast enhancement to include a breast lift to re-position their nipples so they do not point downward. We perform breast augmentation-mastopexy simultaneously to position the nipples of our patients in a more youthful, centralized location. An implant adds volume to the breast, particularly its upper pole, when a breast lift alone may not be enough to meet a woman’s aesthetic goals.

What is the recovery time for Breast Augmentation/Lift?

In general, recovery from breast augmentation surgery is normally 3 weeks. Placing the implants under the muscle through the subpectoral dual plane usually will take several weeks longer to heal than placing an implant in the retromammary or subglandular plane above the muscle. Swelling and edema can continue for up to 6 to 8 weeks. Our patient’s are instructed not to do any heavy lifting for the first 3 weeks to prevent tearing, bleeding, or hematoma, wear sports bras for up to 1 month, as well as an upper pole compression bands in order to bring the implants down to a normal level.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is implanting prostheses in the breast above or beneath the muscle to enlarge or give the breast a fuller look.

This can be done through one of two access points. Through the areola or through the infra-mammary fold(underneath the breast).

What is the downtime for Breast Augmentation?

The downtime varies from patient to patient. If the prostheses is placed above the muscle you will be up and running within 4 days. If the prostheses is place behind the muscle the downtime will be 7 days.

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)

What is Platelet-rich Plasma?

Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is the part of the blood that is rich in growth and repairing factors (active proteins) essential for tissue regeneration and healing. These growth factors mimic the body’s natural wound healing process. During this process collagen, elastin and new blood vessels are increased, and damaged skin repaired and regenerated.
Plasma is what gives skin a youthful appearance but as we age collagen production is reduced causing wrinkles and fine lines. To rejuvenate your skin these growth factors must be injected into your skin to create vibrant skin that looks refreshed and glowing.

How does it work?

PRP is a revolutionary technology, using ingredients of your own blood, which can help regenerate and rejuvenate your skin providing you with age-defying results. A small amount of your blood is taken and the Plasma is extracted from your blood. This is then injected into the desired areas to help healing and rejuvenate your skin.

Silk Peel

What is a Silk Peel?

SilkPeel is a treatment combining non-invasive exfoliation with the infusion of skin specific topical solutions to improve and revitalise the skin.

How does it work?

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion is a skin resurfacing treatment that simultaneously exfoliates and suctions away dead skin cells, while it applies serums to treat specific skin conditions.

The hand piece of the system is guided over the skin surface, the diamond coated treatment head exfoliates the skin, and a vacuum collects the abraded cells depositing them into a waste receptacle keeping the newly exfoliated skin clean. As this occurs, the SilkPeel also simultaneously delivers the chosen topical solution deep into the exfoliated areas.

Genetic Profiling

What is Genetic Profiling?

The analysis of DNA from samples of body tissues or fluids, especially when conducted in order to predict susceptibility to a specific disease as well as lifestyle and dietary changes.

Plasmatek

How does it work?

An instrument that uses the voltaic arc (Plasma) generated by the high safety tension between the needle electrode and the patient’s skin to sublimate the superficial tissues is used to clear away excess skin tissue.

Plasma is ionised, gas-energised electrons, creating small electrical arcs. These arcs increase the temperature to the target area, causing excess skin tissue to shrink and evaporate without affecting the deeper skin layers.

P-Shot

WHAT IS THE P-SHOT?

The P-Shot, or Priapus Shot, is an all-natural, painless and non-surgical procedure that involves injecting platelet-rich-plasma into the penis (after the area is thoroughly numbed), which releases several growth factors and stem cells that initiate tissue growth in the blood vessels and nerves, enhancing the quality and size of the male erection.

Is there any downtime?

Most men return to normal activities after 3 days, including (some) exercise and sexual activity.

V-Shot

What is the V-Shot?

The V-Shot is one of the solutions to female sexual dysfunction. The V-Shot is a vaginal rejuvenation procedure that is completely natural because it uses both platelet rich plasma (PRP) from the patient’s own blood to stimulate regenerative properties and improve sexual function.

How does it work?

Blood containing PRP is drawn from the arm. The blood is placed in a centrifuge to isolate the PRP from the whole blood. A topical anaesthesia is then applied to numb the vaginal areas where the PRP will be injected into the vaginal wall and clitoris.

The injection is relatively painless with no recovery time required, and all normal activities can be resumed on the same day.Sexual activities can commence after 3 days. Some effects of the V-Shot may be noticed immediately, but benefits will increase over several weeks as the vaginal tissues become rejuvenated from the PRP. As with all procedures of this nature, individual results will vary.

Labia reduction

What is Labia Reduction?

Labia minora reduction surgery, or labioplasty, is a remodeling of the enlarged inner lips of the vulva. Enlargement of the labia minora may be apparent from childhood, but most often it is acquired, caused by childbirth, age or infection. It may bother the patient in a functional (wearing clothes, during sports) or in an aesthetic way. The procedure removes skin and mucosa in a way that the scar is barely visible. Labia reduction can also be done with Plasmatek, provided that labia are not excessively enlarged with less downtime.

Will there be any downtime?

Yes, you may need to take a few days off work and from any exercise or training routines. You will also have to restrain form sex for 3 to 6 weeks to give you incision adequate time to heal.

IV Treatments

What can IV treatment be used for?

IV therapy can be used to treat a broad variety of health conditions ranging from fatigue to intestinal malabsorption, thyroid problems, osteoporosis, and more. Intravenous vitamin therapy is also simple, fast, and produces minimal side effects. It is a powerful shot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that is delivered directly into the bloodstream bypassing the digestive system and therefore increases absorption and increases the result of treatment.

Hair Growth Rejuvenation

What is Hair Growth rejuvenation?

Researchers have discovered a new way to activate the stem cells in the hair follicle to make hair grow. The research may lead to new drugs that could promote hair growth for people with baldness or alopecia, which is hair loss associated with such factors as hormonal imbalance, stress, aging or chemotherapy treatment.
